| I would immediately say "make it rusty", but Halo isn't made of iron.
Try just giving it cracks small holes. | |

| Making it dark & dirty doesn't mean old, unless it passes through an asteroid belt or something. Crumpled edges would add to the effect. | |

| the think is Halo does not do bump maping very well if at all, so we make fake bump maps. | |

| So all the bump mapping is done in photoshop so the halo engine renders the texture already bump mapped? | |

| It doesn't render anything but the texture, because there aren't any bump maps.
We are just making it look like it has a bump in photoshop. | |

| Yes it is...What I'm trying to get at is the texture is already bump mapped in photoshop so when the engine renders it the texture appears bump mapped. | |
